Greece (south of 40° latitude) incl. the Peloponnesos and some Greec isles, Sardinia and some Italian regions


  • can grow to maximum 35 cm and 5 kg
  • oval carapace with a large marginal flanged edge
  • adults have an almost black dorsal carapace, head and legs
